The last third of our Australian Odyssey was based in Western Australia with the first portion based in Perth (which would also be the most populous city we would go to during our odyssey.

One of the days, we would take a day trip to Rottnest Island from Perth. We caught a ferry from Perth along the Swan River through Fremantle and across part of the Indian Ocean to Rottnest Island.

Rottnest Island happens to be the only place on earth where a mammal known as a quokka exists. These furry and very cute critters are everywhere on the island and are very welcoming to guests.

On our walking tour on the island, we came across many quokkas and were constantly serenaded by ravens.

Enjoy some footage of a quokka making the rounds. In the background you will hear the very distinct sounds of crows in Australia. They were very vocal on Rottnest Island.

As always, we enjoyed tremendous scenery. This included multiple gorgeous beaches and lighthouses. We enjoyed our first walk into the Indian Ocean. The sunset on our cruise back to Perth along the Swan River was also remarkable.
